MR. Tushar viradiya

Chairperson (Managing Trustee)

Tushar Viradiya has been a part of the founding team for establishing organization; Access Mantra Foundation. Currently, he is serving as a Chairperson for AMF. He studied BA in Applied Sign Language Studies (BAASLS). He has worked as a research assistant in a peer to peer project from 2015-2016. He has also worked as Deaf Empowerment Trainer in Centum GRO from 2016-2018 which provided livelihood and empowerment-based training for Deaf adults. In his free time Tushar likes to read news and explore different sites on the internet to enhance his knowledge and learning

Saudamini Pethe

Board Trustee Member 

Saudamini Pethe has been working in the field of a Deaf Empowerment since 2008. She has worked as a Documentation Executive in Noida Deaf Society. At present she is the President of Haryana Foundation of Deaf Women Trust and Director of All India Foundation of Deaf Women. She has finished her Master’s in English Literature, and is currently pursuing L.L.B. three years course since 2019. She aspires to use her law degree to raise awareness in India about the importance of sign language for the Deaf community.

Sujit Sahasrabudhe

Board Trustee Member 

Sujit is currently living in Scotland, UK. He graduated with BFA from Mumbai University. He also completed Level A,B,C in Indian Sign Language. His hobbies are hiking, walking, and cooking. He has published scholarly articles related to ISL and Deaf Culture. He is also a freelancer in media relations. Also, he is the co-founder of Signex India LLP

Kanika Agarwal

Board Trustee Member 

Kanika is passionate about Deaf Education and wants to change the face of it on Indian soils. She has 5+ years of experience in teaching Deaf children. She is the first Deaf signer in the history of TISS to have gained a Masters degree in Elementary Education. She also possesses a Masters Degree in Chemistry. She loves socializing with sign language users. Learning new languages, fine arts, reading and writing are some of her favorite pastimes.

Rajesh Ketkar

Board Trustee Member 

Rajesh Ketkar is presently the project director of Mook Badhir Mandal, Vadodara which promotes accessible news for the Deaf and Rajesh is the prime signer. He is passionate about promoting English literacy and education for the Deaf. Prior to joining Mook Badhir Mandal he holds 11 years of experience with Ishara Foundation as a soft skills and English language trainer for Deaf students. He holds a degree in B.Sc in Computer Science. In his free time he enjoys chess, cricket, reading and travelling. 

Noopur Gandhi Dhawan 

Board Trustee Member 

Noopur is currently living in Mumbai.  Recently, she started a small start-up for the bakery, Dough Goood. Before this, she was a creative director of Verga Attachments Pvt Ltd, where she directed the creative campaigns and handled social media. She holds a degree in Fashion Marketing Retail from Heriot watt University, Dubai Campus. In her spare time, she enjoys binge watching movies, date nights with her husband, and reading cookbooks.

Surbhi Taneja 

Advisory Board Trustee Member (Secretary) 

Surbhi has been working as an Indian Sign Language interpreter for Deaf individuals and organisations. She also works as a contract-based content writer. She is one of the co-founders of CODA India which works with Children of Deaf Adults. She holds a Masters degree in Development Extension. In her free time she loves to read, write and binge watch Netflix. 

Jai Dehadrai 

Advisory Board Trustee Member

Jai is a graduate from ILS Law college Pune and holds a Masters from Ivy League University of Pennsylvania Law School. Presently he is based in New Delhi, his areas of focus as an arguing counsel are criminal trials (focus on money laundering and white-collar issues), bail, the intersection of constitutional law and individual rights, and traditional civil litigation (recovery, corporate disputes etc.). He is also the Standing Counsel for the Goa State Pollution Control Board (GSPCB). In 2019, Jai was appointed Standing Counsel for the Union of India in the Supreme Court on Panel ‘B’ and briefs the Solicitor General and the Additional Solicitor General in diverse cases. Jai is deeply passionate about issues concerning corporate criminal liability, the right of bail, privacy, disability rights, personal liberty and the rights of accused persons and under-trial prisoners.

Manisha Sharma   

Advisory Board Trustee Member

Manisha Sharma is currently working as an Indian Sign Language Interpreter. She completed her Masters in commerce and holds a diploma in Indian Sign Language Interpretation. She is one of the co-founders of CODA India which works with Children of Deaf Adults. She is an adventurous person and enjoys dancing and sketching sometimes. 

Dr. Alim Chandani

Senior Advisor

Born Deaf in Mumbai, India. In 2013, he obtained his Doctorate in Administration and Supervision in Special Education from Gallaudet University in Washington D.C., USA.  His doctoral research has brought him back to his homeland in 2016.  He had realized that it is unacceptable for deafness to be a barrier to good quality education and equal opportunities, the lack of which makes numerous deaf people here unaware of their inherent potential. Currently, he is the Senior Advisor of a community-based foundation, Access Mantra Foundation – aims to innovate solutions and create social impact on advocating for equality and opportunities for the Indian Deaf community. Dr. Alim has delivered several TEDx talks and has advised governments and NGOs in emerging market across the world on Deaf education and Skills training for the Deaf.
